Years after the Galaxy Rangers defeated Trakeena, 3 Quasar Sabres symbolising the shark, rhino and phoenix, drifted through space until they reached KO-35. Each sabre embedded itself in a different place around the captail of Aqua City. As each sabre was found, the 3 new owners were attracted to each other by the power of the sabres.
On the planet of Mirinoi, Bokku awoke from his deep sleep to find the rangers and become their mentor. He and his grandfather, Mokku, went to KO-35 and set up a small underground base for the would-be rangers, before gathering them.
Not too far away, the pirates led by Captain Mutiny, who had survived their supposed destruction at Trakeena's hand, stationed themselves on one of KO-35's moons and began attacking the planet. Mokku and Bokku told the rangers everything and transformed them into the most of all Galaxy Rangers, the Sector Rangers.
They were later joined by Cosmo Knight, who had failed to save his home planet and sought redemption. Now the team of 4 heroes battles the pirates and together, they will save KO-35.
